Community partnerships

Ormeau State School actively supports and encourages the participation of the school and wider community to be involved in our school.  The school participates in a range of activities within the wider community and seeks the support of parents and community members in enriching and supporting the learning environment.  To get involved please contact your child's classroom teacher or contact the office for more information. 

School Council

Established September 1999

Purpose:

To oversee the planning and operations of Ormeau State School and to provide strategic advice to the Principal.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Monitor, review and modify: School Strategic Plan, Annual Operational Plan and Student Behaviour Management Plan.
  • Co-ordinate and oversee Annual Operational Plans and General Planning and Review.
  • Formulate, consult, approve and monitor School Budget.
  • Provide advice on whole school matters.
  • Consider and make recommendations to Principal on School policy matters.
  • Undertake a quality assurance role, viz: receive reports from all programs and recommendations.
  • Advocate for whole school support for the School.

Reporting Relationships:

To the Principal and the Parents and Citizens Association.

Meeting Schedule:

The School Council will meet once per term or as the need arises.
