I am safe, I am Respectful and I am a Learner
In
2019, as we begin our journey to become a PBL school, we have three new
school rules that will be used alongside our existing Ormeau State
School values of Opportunity, Responsibility, Manners, Excellence,
Acceptance and Understanding. Positive Behaviour
for Learning (PBL) is a whole-school approach to creating a safe and
supportive environment that has a strong evidence-base and is used in
many Queensland state schools.
Our three rules: I am safe, I am respectful and I am a learner
will be taught explicitly to all of our students and will apply in all
areas of the school including all settings, teaching areas, transitions, eating areas, play areas, toilets, travel/bus and online.
To
ensure students remember our expectations while in the playground, all
teachers and teacher-aides will be wearing brand new vests while on
duty. These vests will not only allow students to locate teaching staff
more readily, but will also help to remind students of the importance of
being safe, respectful and a learner while enjoying well-deserved
breaks with their peers.
