Special
Education Teachers and Teacher Aides work collaboratively with Class
Teachers to differentiate the learning and support within the class
context to meet the needs of students with disabilities. This is in line
with the Department’s commitment to inclusive education for all
students. This is supported by current research into the benefits for
students with disabilities when this approach is taken, including
academically, socially and emotionally.
In addition, Specialist Teachers and Therapists visit the school on a needs basis. These specialists include:
Advisory visiting teacher for physical impairment
Advisory visiting teacher for hearing impairment
Speech Language Pathologist
Occupational Therapist
Physiotherapist
